1.25kg lean beef mince
1 onion, finely chopped
100g mature cheddar, grated
Small bunch of parsley, chopped
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp mild chill powder
Freshly ground salt and pepper
Tip the mince into a large mixing bowl with the onion, breadcrumbs, cheese, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, egg, chilli powder, 1/2 tsp salt and some pepper.
Mix together well with your hands, then divide the mixture into portions and shape into burgers. (Can be frozen at this stage between squares of baking parchment in a freezerproof container, defrost overnight in the fringe before cooking).
Heat griddle or frying pan until hot, then cook the burgers for 5-8 minutes on each side or until cooked to your preference.
Serve in burger buns with any salad varieties to your liking.
